Join us on the beautiful Sacramento River for the 2025 NCSGNA Annual Fall Conference! This full-day event is designed for gastroenterology nurses and associates seeking to enhance their knowledge of current and emerging topics in GI care.
Attendees will enjoy a dynamic day of learning, networking, and vendor engagement in the scenic capital city of California.
Doors will open at 7:00 AM for registration, vendor exhibits, and networking opportunities. Attendees can enjoy a continental breakfast in the morning, and a lunch will be provided during the event.
ABCGN Statement
Attendees will be eligible to earn seven (7) GI-specific contact hours approved by the American Board of Certification for Gastroenterology Nurses (ABCGN), pending.
Parking Information
The Embassy Suites by Hilton offers valet parking for $40 per night.
Alternatively, attendees may park at the Tower Bridge Garage, conveniently located across the street from the hotel. Rates for the garage are:

Hotel Cancellation & Early Departure Policy

Dr. John Canio is a board-certified gastroenterologist with over two decades of experience in digestive health. He earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine and completed his internal medicine training and gastroenterology fellowship at UC Davis Medical Center. Since joining Capitol G.I. in 2002, Dr. Canio has remained committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care in both the Carmichael and Roseville communities. He brings a thoughtful and collaborative approach to gastroenterology, with a deep respect for the multidisciplinary teams that support procedural and clinical care.

Dr. Antonio Mendoza Ladd is an interventional endoscopist with a passion for advancing minimally invasive solutions to complex gastrointestinal and extra-gastrointestinal conditions. He specializes in cutting-edge endoscopic therapies for disorders such as GI cancers, achalasia, gastroparesis, Zenker’s Diverticulum, and pancreato-biliary disease. Known for his patient-centered philosophy, Dr. Mendoza Ladd believes trust and open communication are central to delivering exceptional care. He integrates both traditional and innovative endoscopic techniques to develop tailored treatment plans in collaboration with his patients. Dr. Mendoza Ladd’s academic work focuses on novel endoscopic approaches to GI cancers, pancreatitis management, and third-space endoscopy. He is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences and a published author in the field. A dedicated educator, he plays a key teaching role at UC Davis and is a sought-after speaker on advanced endoscopy. Committed to equity in healthcare, Dr. Mendoza Ladd actively works to improve GI outcomes in underserved communities and advocates for increased diversity in medicine through his involvement in national DEI initiatives.

Colorectal Surgeon

Dr. Piyush Aggarwal is a board-certified colorectal and general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive approaches to conditions such as colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, hemorrhoids, fissures, and fistulas. He is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and treats every patient as he would a member of his own family. Trained at prestigious institutions including the Mayo Clinic and the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Aggarwal brings expertise in robotic and laparoscopic techniques, with additional focus on recurrent rectal cancer and fecal incontinence. He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, and cares for adult patients at John Muir Health locations in Concord and Walnut Creek, California.

Registered Dietitian
Neha Shah is a registered dietitian and certified nutrition support clinician with over two decades of experience in GI and liver nutrition. With a Master’s in Public Health Nutrition from Loma Linda University and extensive clinical experience at Stanford Health Care, Neha has developed expertise in complex conditions including IBD, short bowel syndrome, celiac disease, and liver disease. She played a key role in establishing GI nutrition and intestinal rehabilitation programs and continues to advance the field through teaching, publishing, and serving as Nutrition Co-Editor for the Journal of Practical Gastroenterology. Now in private practice, Neha remains passionate about guiding patients on their healing journey through personalized, evidence-based nutrition.

Kristen Lateiner is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in general surgery, with a focus on abdominal and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) care. She is part of the John Muir Health Foundation Practice, where she collaborates closely with surgeons and specialists to support patients with complex conditions of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts. Kristen is fluent in English and French and is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care using the latest surgical techniques and technologies.

Dr. Bobbie Crider is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with deep roots in gastroenterology and a strong background in endoscopy nursing. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of California, Davis, holds a BSN from Pacific Union College, and an ADN from Northwestern Michigan College. Dr. Crider has been part of the John Muir Health team since 2016, where she continues to provide advanced care in an interventional endoscopy setting. Her clinical interests include esophageal motility, ambulatory pH testing, and procedural sedation. An active member of the gastroenterology nursing community, Dr. Crider has served with the Northern California Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (NCSGNA) for the past three years and currently serves as Treasurer. She is also a volunteer for SGNA and is passionate about advancing GI nursing through education, collaboration, and leadership.
