Emily Scafidi RN
President
Emily Scafidi has been involved with NCSGNA for over 6 years and is currently the President of Northern California Region. Emily is currently the Nursing Professional Development Specialist for Stanford Health Care Endoscopy units including Outpatients, Inpatients and Procedure rooms. She has been nurse educator for 6 years and enjoys developing programs, educational competencies, and creating training programs. Emily has also worked in the pre/post ambulatory setting for 7 years along with a wide range of nursing careers over the last 20+ years. In her spare time, Emily loves gardening, hiking, and outdoor activities.

Bobbie Crider DNP, FNP-BC, RN, CGRN
Treasurer
Bobbie Crider is an experienced RN and endoscopy nurse with a strong background in gastroenterology. She is currently pursuing her DNP-FNP at the University of California Davis, holds a BSN from Pacific Union College, and an ADN from Northwestern Michigan College. Mrs. Crider has been a dedicated endoscopy nurse at John Muir Medical Center since 2016 and is actively involved in professional organizations such as the NCSGNA and ABCGN. Her areas of interest include esophageal motility, ambulatory pH testing, and procedural sedation.

Lydia Blethrow RN, BSN, CGRN

Lydia Blethrow’s career path led her directly from nursing school to Endoscopy. With a 30-year tenure in GI and Endoscopy, she remains steadfast in her belief that this is the ultimate job.
Originally from Wyoming, Lydia relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she has dedicated the past 26 years to UCSF Medical Center. Her areas of interest include mentoring, patient satisfaction, quality assurance and safety, and procedural sedation. Lydia has been a member of NCSGNA and board-certified since 2000, as well as serving in various roles on the Board since 2005.

April Sundong RN, BSN, CGRN
Director of Exhibitors
April Sundong is an experienced gastroenterology nurse who has been working as a Colorectal Care Coordinator at Kaiser Permanente, Vallejo, since 2019. With over 20 years of experience as a GI nurse, including five years in the OR, she enjoys ERCP and advanced technology in GI. April graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, and has been board-certified since 2006. Active in professional organizations, she has served on the NCSGNA board since 2016, volunteered for the SGNA Awards Committee in 2018 and had just taken a new appointment for the Item Review Committee at ABCGN. Her hobbies include paper crafting, stamping, and traveling.

Dawn Neblett-Cross BS, RN
Director of Membership
Dawn Neblett-Cross is an expert gastroenterology registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in the gastroenterology field. She specializes in managing outpatients, inpatients, and specialty cases, including advanced techniques for OR and ER bleeding patients, as well as ERCPs and EUSs. Dawn began her nursing career at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte in Sacramento and has spent 24 years in gastroenterology at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, California. She has been a dedicated member of the NCSGNA since 2003 and has served on the SGNA Board since 2014, ensuring the continuity of care and leading her colleagues in the GI department.

Phuong Pham BSN, RN, CGRN
Director of Social Media
Phuong Pham-Abano is a dedicated gastroenterology nurse with 12 years of experience, including the last 7 years in GI. She is currently working in the Special Procedures Department at Kaiser Permanente, Vallejo. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland and became board-certified in gastroenterology in 2022. She plans to pursue her graduate degree in the fall. Her favorite procedure is ERCP. When not at work, Phuong enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, two sons, and a Golden Retriever.
